The Furness Multicultural Community Forum’s day trip in May was a spectacular success, bringing together young people aged 7-18 for a day filled with adventure and camaraderie at the beautiful Kepplewray Centre. Each participant embraced the thrill of trying new activities and worked together as a team, making the day both memorable and inspiring.
Our enthusiastic group kicked off the day with archery, where young archers aimed for the bullseye, cheering each other on with every shot. It was incredible to see the determination and focus as they honed their skills, celebrating each other’s successes and learning from their misses.
Next up was tree climbing, a challenge that saw our young adventurers scaling new heights. With harnesses secured and encouragement from their peers, everyone gave it their all, reaching the top and enjoying the stunning views. The support and teamwork displayed were truly heartwarming, as each climber was met with cheers and applause.
Bushcraft activities brought out the explorers in everyone. Our young participants learned essential survival skills, from building shelters to starting fires. It was fantastic to watch them work together, share knowledge, and discover the joys of nature. The sense of accomplishment on their faces as they completed each task was priceless.
The day culminated in crate stacking, a test of balance and strategy. Teams competed to see who could build the tallest tower of crates while keeping their balance. The laughter and shouts of encouragement echoed through the centre as everyone worked together, demonstrating their amazing teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
Overall, the day at Kepplewray Centre was a testament to the spirit of adventure and community. It was great to see young people stepping out of their comfort zones, trying new activities, and most importantly, supporting each other every step of the way. This trip not only provided fun and excitement but also strengthened bonds and built lasting memories. Here’s to many more adventures together!
